Bujumbura is an amazing little city of the African country Burundi. You may have heard the name of the country often but today I am going to introduce to its fascinating capital city which has an equally unique name. The city is situated in a country that is completely land locked. Every country in this world has a separate and different border line than another country. The previous name of the city was Usumbura which was changed to Bujumbura in 1962 when it became independent from Belgian League of Nations. The city has an interesting history which is depicted in the museums and buildings of the city. It is a home to an international airport and sea port. Ferries and ships are used for general transportation of goods and materials.
The climate of Bujumbura is dry and wet having moderate temperature throughout the year. From October to April, the city witnesses wet weather. Rest of the year is dry. Overall, weather of Bujumbura is considered pleasant.


The Bujumbura people are hearty and famous for nightlife, drinks and dance. Its nightlife and culture is made an attraction for the tourists. The sensuous nightlife is no less than any other African or developed country. Some other attractions for the tourists are inland beaches and beauty of Lake Tanganyika. The major exports of Burundi are coffee, cotton, skins and tin ore. The port of Bujumbura provides the source of exportation of all these raw materials from Burundi to rest of the world.The city of Bujumbura is not very prosperous, considering the fact that it is the capital of the world ten poorest countries.
